Kreuzberg Audio was founded in 2025 by Frank Hahn in Berlin, a veteran of the German music industry with over two decades of experience at the intersection of music, technology, and innovation.
Frank's career began in the music industry at companies such as Musik Meyer, Korg & More, GSM Multimedia, and inMusic. In collaboration with then Vestax CEO Toshi Nakama, he played a key and pioneering role in the development of the VCI-100, the world's first professional DJ MIDI controller, which was launched in 2006 and heralded a whole new era of digital DJing. The VCI-100 set the blueprint that virtually all DJ controllers follow today and laid the foundation for what is now known as “controllerism.”
Alongside this, Frank founded the successful blog DJ-LAB.de, which grew into the leading German-language online magazine for DJ equipment and electronic music and continues to shape the scene to this day.
As an artist, Frank has been a fixture of the German drum & bass scene since 2000 under the name Giana Brotherz, with releases on labels such as Basswerk and Pathfinder, his own label Giana Brotherz Recordings, and shows around the world. Under his aliases Disco Tetris and Frank Hahn he produces everything that has no breakbeats in it, from tech house to uptempo, and runs two more labels for those genres: Spreemucke and Bassmucke. He is also a permanent part of the Riverside Studios community in Berlin.
All of this experience now flows into Kreuzberg Audio: Frank has been a dedicated Bitwig user for years. For him, the Berlin-based DAW is the most modern, open, and flexible music software on the market. The ability to develop powerful controller scripts and generative tools through its API inspired him to share his creations with the community.
At Kreuzberg Audio, producers will find a growing collection of controller scripts for Bitwig Studio that significantly accelerate the creative workflow. These include intelligent melody generators with automatic scale detection and genre-specific presets, tools for emotional chord progressions, professional arpeggiator engines, and specialized pattern generators for classic TB-303-style acid basslines, complete with slides, accents, and stutter effects. Techno and Hardstyle producers will find screech pattern generators, while those working with breakbeats can explore versatile sampler instruments with precisely sliced samples and integrated rhythm generators.
Beyond Bitwig tools, Kreuzberg Audio also develops standalone VST/AU plugins for all major DAWs. Starting with a specialized distortion plugin for authentic acid sound, with more plugins in development, including the in-house synthesizer plugin "Reecer."
Kreuzberg Audio stands for battle-tested, high-quality audio tools, developed by a producer and entrepreneur who has spent decades in the studio and on stage. No unnecessary features, just meaningful tools that genuinely enhance the creative workflow.
